Geological Evidence
First Scenario:There evidence showing that rare metal was found during that major event which is call iridium, which is only found in asteroid. Scientists have discovered levels of iridium 30 times greater than average in the Cretaceous,Tertiary (KT) boundary, and the layer of sedimentary rock laid down at that time of the dinosaur extinction.
Second Scenario: In India they have geological evidence showing that Fossils in India revealed that plankton species became smaller, with less elaborate shells, suggesting that sulfur and carbon dioxide from volcanism caused ocean acidification and led to a mass die-off in the seas. Guembilitria may have come to dominance worldwide when the huge amounts of sulfur (in the form of acid rain) released by the Deccan Traps fell into the oceans. There, it would've chemically binded with calcium, making that calcium unavailable to sea creatures that needed the element to build their shells and skeletons.
